About ETFLens
Independent ETF research for Australian investors, no finance degree required.
The origin story
The two-ETF mistake that started ETFLens
The idea starts from my own experience, embarrassingly I spent three years holding VAS and A200 and thinking that my portfolio was diversified. Little did I know that both of these investments track the largest Australian companies and in other words I was basically paying two sets of fees for what is almost the identical portfolio.
When I had figured this out, I tried to find a tool that would have helped me catch this earlier. There was nothing that compared holdings and information all in the one place and explained it in an easy way that just made sense.
So I decided to build ETFLens, the tool that I wish I had.

What ETFLens isn't
Not financial advice. Nothing here constitutes a recommendation to buy, sell or hold any investment. Always consult a licensed financial adviser before making investment decisions.
We don't sell your data. We don't accept payment from fund managers. Our research is never influenced by commercial relationships. Revenue comes from Pro subscriptions ($19/month). No referral commissions are currently received; if that changes it will be disclosed and labelled on the site, and it will never affect what we write.
Not affiliated with any ETF provider. All research is independent. When an ETF has a weakness, we say so.
Why the research is free
The core research is free because informed investors make better decisions. If someone checks the overlap between two ETFs before investing and saves themselves three years of double fees, that's a win regardless of whether they ever pay us.
The Pro tools are $19/monthbecause we need to keep the lights on. That's it. No mystery.
Data accuracy
Holdings data is sourced from fund manager product disclosure statements and verified at least quarterly, with live holdings for major issuers refreshed automatically. Fee data is checked against current PDS documents. Dividend yield figures are trailing 12-month estimates and will vary.
If you find an error, a wrong fee, an outdated holding, a misclassification, please contact us and we will fix it promptly.
Holdings, MERs, fund sizes and distribution data are verified and updated at least quarterly from each issuer's published disclosure documents. Latest data vintage: Q2 2026.
