CLNE gives you exposure to the global clean energy sector, companies producing solar panels, wind turbines, battery storage, EV charging infrastructure, and clean hydrogen. The energy transition represents a significant long-term capital allocation shift. CLNE's performance has been extremely volatile, the fund fell over 70% from its 2021 peak as rising interest rates weighed heavily on high-multiple clean energy companies. Past performance is not a reliable indicator of future returns. Clean energy companies are sensitive to both interest rates (high valuations compress when rates rise) and to government energy policy changes.
