VGE gives you broad exposure to emerging market economies, China, Taiwan, India and other emerging markets. Emerging markets represent a significant share of global GDP but are largely absent from standard global ETFs like VGS. The risks are higher than in developed markets: currency volatility, political instability, regulatory risk, and corporate governance concerns are all more pronounced. In 2025, VGE returned 18.32%, with returns driven by gains in Indian and Taiwanese holdings over the period. Past performance is not a reliable indicator of future returns. At 0.48% it's more expensive than VGS.
