WRLD is the Betashares managed-risk global shares fund. It holds a diversified portfolio of global shares, measured against the MSCI World ex-Australia Index, and applies a risk-management overlay that aims to reduce volatility and cushion losses during market downturns. The overlay can also limit participation when markets rise strongly, so returns can differ meaningfully from a plain global index ETF in either direction. At 0.54% p.a. the fee sits well above a broad global index ETF such as VGS or BGBL. The fund is actively managed rather than index-tracking, and its largest holdings are the big US technology companies that dominate global indices.
