About this list
Australia has more than 400 exchange-traded funds and products listed on the ASX and Cboe Australia, with new launches and closures every quarter. This page lists the 420 ETFs tracked by ETFLens, sortable by management fee (MER), assets under management, asset class, issuer and recent return. Use the filters above to narrow the list to the ETFs that match your strategy.
For most Australian investors, the four signals that matter most when choosing between similar ETFs are:
Management expense ratio (MER)
The annual fee. For broad-market index ETFs, lower fees mean more of your return is retained; for specialist or factor ETFs, fees can be justified by the strategy.
Assets under management (AUM)
Funds with higher AUM tend to have tighter buy/sell spreads and lower closure risk.
Tax structure
Australian-domiciled ETFs that pass through franking credits are generally more tax-efficient for Australian residents than US-domiciled equivalents.
Index methodology
Two ETFs tracking different indexes (e.g. S&P/ASX 200 vs Solactive Australia 200) may look identical but have different inclusion rules.
Use the ETF comparison tool for side-by-side analysis of any two ETFs, the ETF overlap checker to see how much your existing holdings duplicate each other, and the ETF fee calculator to model the long-term cost of any MER over your holding period. For a fee-first view, see Australian ETFs ranked by management fee.
